Channel your inner Lucy at the Grape Stomp at Burnshirt Vineyards.
It wouldn’t be WNC if there weren’t a costume contest involved. At Burntshirt Vineyards’ annual grape stomp on September 19, those who come dressed as Lucy (from the famous I Love Lucy grape-stomping episode) will take home a three-bottle pack of Burntshirt wine. So go searching for your best off-the-shoulder white blouse and kerchief. Non-costumed stompers are welcome, too.
The Henderson County destination, which hosts weddings and events all year round, won its own accolades this year: it was named North Carolina’s Winery of the Year by the 2015 New York International Wine Competition.
The Grape Stomp is part of the vineyard’s annual harvest bash, which also includes music by classic rock band Vintage Vinyl.
