2019 Bee School

January 14, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$75

The Henderson County Beekeepers Association (HCBA) announced the schedule for its 2019 Beekeeping School. This is one of this region’s most extensive beekeeping course, consisting of seven classroom sessions and at least two apiary sessions with over a dozen instructors from the southeast. The course objective is to prepare students to successfully care for bees during the first year of beekeeping. The $75 fee includes a textbook, course materials and one-year family membership to HCBA. Those completing the class and planning to become spring 2019 beekeepers are encouraged to take advantage of HCBAs unique mentor program. Mentors make themselves available to offer hands on support and coach those completing this course during the critical first year of beekeeping. The class is held every Monday evening for seven weeks beginning Jan. 14, from 7 to 9pm at Mountain Horticultural Crops Research and Extension Center, 455 Research Drive in Mills River.  For more information, go online or call 828-BEE-5623.
