Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup and Hike

Join a community roadside cleanup and hike on a favorite trails. Fulfill your new year’s resolutions early and get out and volunteer. The volunteer group will clean up litter along South Mills Gap Road then head over to Bearwallow Mountain for a rewarding hike. South Mills Gap is a two-lane road located in Fruitland. Bearwallow Mountain offers nearly 360 degree views from a grassy bald peak, the tallest in the Hickory Nut Gorge, at 4,232 feet. The hike is 2 miles round trip. The meeting location is Fruitland Methodist Church, 66 S. Mills Gap Rd., Hendersonville. Bring lunch and plenty of water and wear long pants and closed toe shoes.
