Armchair Traveler at FENCE
June 9, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pmFree
Long closed to travelers coming from the United States, Cuba and its wealth of natural riches, including 27 endemic bird species, are now easily reachable via flights from numerous U.S. cities. With its interesting history and complex relationship with the U.S., the Caribbean’s largest island nation has long been misunderstood. All politics aside, Cuba is a fascinating destination full of great birds, wildlife, colorful buildings with Spanish colonial architecture, and friendly people. Join international bird guide Aaron Steed as he recounts his most recent visit to Cuba, currently one of the most popular birdwatching destinations. This presentation is free and open to the public thanks to the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation. Following the presentation refreshments will be served. FENCE is located at 3381 Hunting Country Road in Tryon. For more information about this or upcoming events visit www.fence.org, call 828-859-9021, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
