Drama Connect Club
July 30, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:30 am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, repeating until August 10, 2018
St. Gerard House has announced the Connect Drama Club, a social skills-based theatre program for families with kids aged 5-18 on the autism spectrum and other special needs. Participants will use acting, directing, and playwriting to explore how our thoughts, actions and reactions can impact social situations. Connect provides a supportive and fun environment for students to learn the tools they need to build friendships, solve problems, collaborate with others and even express themselves. While the Connect Drama Club is designed for families with special needs, no diagnosis is required. The dates and times for the first session of the Connect Drama Club are July 30-Aug. 10, Monday through Friday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. The cost per group member is $180. Following the summer dates, look for after-school sessions for fall, winter and spring. Due to the social nature of the program, there must be a minimum of four students enrolled in a particular age group to run the session. For more information and registration, contact Sharon Stokes, connect program coordinator, at email@example.com or 828-693-4223 ext. 1010.
