Get to Know Your Invasive Plants

November 23, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Free
Many people love the climate in the Carolina foothills and unfortunately so do most of the most serious invasive plants. Plants such as Tree of Heaven, Kudzu, Oriental Bittersweet, Wisteria, and Miscanthus grass are all exotic or non-native plants that when left unchecked become serious weeds that are extremely difficult to control. On Saturday, Nov. 23, at 11am FENCE is offering a program on many of the worst invasive plants. The featured speaker will be John Vining, retired county extension director for Polk County. The horticulturist will discuss how to identify these non-native plants and share a few tips about their control. This event is free and open to the public free of charge. The program will be held inside the great room at the FENCE Center located at 3381 Hunting Country Road in Tryon.
