December 6, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

This month’s Discover Natural Transylvania on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 6:30pm in the Rogow Room at the Transylvania County Library will feature bats.  Wildlife diversity biologist Katherine Caldwell will cover bat basics, conservation issues, projects and what we can do to help bats in her presentation, Going Batty: Bat Conservation in NC. Caldwell is a North Carolina native and earned a B.S. from UNC Asheville in ecology and environmental biology and an M.S. from Ball State University in biology. She has been studying bats for eight years and has been with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission for the past three years. Light refreshments are provided by the Friends of the Library who support the Discover Natural Transylvania program series on the first Thursday of most months. Upcoming programs will feature peregrine falcons and golden eagles in January and skunks in March.  For additional information contact Marcy at 828-884-1820 or marcy.thompson@transylvaniacounty.org.
