Gorges State Park: A Work in Progress – Past, Present and Future

January 4, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Gorges State Park Superintendent Steve Pagano will present Gorges State Park—A Work in Progress—Past, Present & Future at the Discover Natural Transylvania program in the Transylvania County Library Rogow Room on Thursday, Jan. 4 at 6:30pm. Pagano will highlight the transformation of the former Duke Power property into Gorges State Park, North Carolina’s crown jewel. He has served as park superintendent since the park was created in 1999.  This is a great opportunity to learn about Gorges State Park from the man who has been involved from the beginning. Upcoming Discover Natural Transylvania programs include hiking with your dog in February, learning about wilderness areas in March, and paddling the French Broad River trail in April. These free programs are supported by the Friends of the Library.  Light refreshments are provided.  For additional information contact Marcy at 828-884-1820 or marcy.thompson@transylvaniacounty.org.
