Hendersonville Green Drinks: Protecting Pollinators

January 11, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

On Thursday, Jan. 11, Hendersonville Green Drinks welcomes Kim Bailey, the coordinator of the Hendersonville Bee City USA program and a member of the national Bee City USA board of directors. Her organization aims to raise awareness of the role pollinators play in our communities, and she will discuss what everyone can do to provide them with a healthy habitat. Did you know that 90 percent of all wild plants rely on pollinators for the survival of their species? Or that one in every three bites of food people consume is courtesy of insect pollination? Just as plants and pollinators have collaborated for millions of years, Bee City USA believes that communities have the opportunity to join forces to sustain pollinators through more conscientious landscape management.
