Open to all ages, this program will cover history and forest management around Lake Julia as well as the life histories of some of the creatures that live in and around this 100-acre lake ecosystem. You will be using equipment to explore the life forms found in and around the lake. Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and bring a towel, snacks and water. The group will meet at the Aleen Steinberg Visitor Center at 10am and carpool to the lake; the program will take 2-3 hours. Once you are at the lake, there are no facilities. There is a limit of 12 participants and participants must sign a release form. Sign-up is required by calling Holmes Educational State Forest at 828-692-0100.
