National Park Week at Sandburg Home

The Carl Sandburg Home will celebrate National Park Week with free tours of the Sandburgs’ Flat Rock home on April 20. On April 24 and 25 museum staff will host volunteer open houses to recruit people for the new Sandburg Stewards program. The week will close out April 27 with a community poetry reading of Sandburg’s The People, Yes. The open houses for potential volunteer stewards will be held April 24 from 2-4pm and April 25 from 10am to 12pm. The poetry reading is April 27 from 9am to 4pm. The community is invited to sign up to read five-minute segments of this book-length poem. Go online to sign up.
