New Approaches to Landscape with Jane Todd Butcher

Create more exciting landscapes in watercolor, acrylic or mixed media, while finding new ways to enhance your landscapes and use color to create atmosphere.  Explore new ways to begin a landscape in water media, working on several painting studies, and using underpainting, painting on new surfaces and other methods to give normal paintings a fresh look. The class will also deal with composition and color. Artists may bring photos for reference, though the group members will use their imaginations to go beyond what they see in photos.  Artists will then find ways to use mixed media to solve problems and enhance paintings done in their usual techniques and materials. Artists will bring their normal water media paints and brushes. Additional materials are supplied. Class is limited to 10 adults.
