Opening Day Celebration: Old Time Plowing and Folkways

The Cradle of Forestry hosts an opening day celebration with old time plowing and folkways on Saturday, April 7, from 10am-4pm. Winter has passed, and the Cradle is officially re-opening for the 2018 season. Take a turn at horse-drawn plowing in the heritage garden, visit with demonstrators, and buy crafts from traditional artisans. You will feel Blue Ridge culture come to life as you step back into the time of the Biltmore Forest School and the Pink Beds community You will also meet old-time homesteaders David and Diane Burnette and their Percheron draft horses. All events are included with general admission.
