Shadow Puppets and Live Music: Lupita’s Revenge
January 25, 2020 @ 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm
One event on January 26, 2020 at 1:00 pm
Come see two special shadow-puppet performances of Lupita’s Revenge on Saturday Jan. 25, at 9pm, and Sunday Jan. 26 at 1pm during the Asheville Fringe Arts Festival. Lupita’s Revenge is a vengeance play set between Valdosta, Georgia and Mexico City. It features lots of Mexican wrestlers, underwater fight scenes, breathtaking visuals, and a live five-piece band performing a soundtrack of Latin American classics and 1980s pop. For a ticket link, video demo, and lots more information, visit http://www.travelingpuppetshow.com. Along with the beautiful scenery, there are some unpleasant characters and some violence and one mild decapitation. Recommended age groups are adult and adolescent. The show is performed by an alliance of eight visual artists, puppeteers and musicians from Athens, Ga. This is a device-free, all-acoustic, unplugged performance, so please leave your electronics at home or in your pockets. Doors open a half hour before each show. Festival passes and single event tickets for $14 are available.
