September 4, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Cummings Cove Cares has teamed up with local restaurant owner Mike Wiemers to host Surf ‘N Brew Charity Night to benefit the Etowah Children’s Center on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 5:30 to 9:30pm. The evening will offer some of WNC’s best fresh caught seafood, craft beers and cider, live music, a 50/50 raffle and other fun activities to benefit the Etowah Children’s Center. The public is welcome to attend. The Surf ‘N Brew Charity Night will kick off a month of activities that Cummings Cove Cares organizes every three years to support a local charity. Resident activities include ping pong, mah jongg, hand and foot, and a tennis tournament, as well as a golf scramble, and three walks to raise funds. The 2019 recipient is WCCA’s Etowah Children’s Center which provides Head Start, Early Head Start and N.C. Pre-K childcare to children 1 month old to 5 years of low income families. Proceeds raised will help fund improvements to the Etowah facility located at 245 Brickyard Rd., including the purchase of three outdoor playground shade structures, outdoor learning environment equipment and children’s books.
