The Devil We Know

November 15, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Unraveling one of the biggest environmental controversies of our time, this film shows how a group of citizens in West Virginia take on a powerful corporation, DuPont, after they discover it has been dumping a toxic chemical – now found in the blood of 99.7% of Americans – into the drinking water supply. Amanda Strawderman, program coordinator of Clean Water for North Carolina and a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne’s Master of Arts in Sustainability Studies program, will facilitate discussion following the screening. The screening is co-hosted by Clean Water of North Carolina and Working Films.
