The Love Talker and A Ghost Story

October 26, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - November 4, 2018 @ 7:30 pm

Eerie specters, magic, and strange visions arrive at Hendersonville Community Theatre. The Halloween double feature, The Love Talker and A Ghost Story, haunt the theatre’s intimate Second Stage. Tickets are $16 and are available online at HendersonvilleTheatre.org or by calling the Box Office at (828) 692-1082.

The Love Talker, Deborah Pryor’s tale of witchery in the mountains of Virginia, is abundant with apparitions and an eerie and sensual atmosphere.  Two women, 14-year-old Gowdie and her mother Bun, live together in a remote cabin in the woods where they wage a private war against oppressive forest forces: an impish, red-headed witch and the lustful demon, The Love Talker.

In John Pielmeier’s A Ghost Story, two hikers, Oswald and Hackett, seek shelter from a winter blizzard in an isolated Maine cabin. They are joined by a mysterious girl, Soma. To pass the time, the three tell each other ghost stories that suddenly becomes real in the blood-curdling climax.

HCT stalwart Zachary Eden directs, and the cast features Gary McClain as Oswald, Zachary Eden as Hackett and Claire Estes as Soma.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. The show is rated PG-13 for strong language and sexual content.
