Things That Go Bump In The Night

May 29, 2019 @ 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm

$70

When the sun sets during summer, many nocturnal creatures call the Pisgah National Forest home. From blue ghost fireflies, owls and coyotes to black bears and tree frogs, come enjoy a night of exploration and search the forest for anything nocturnal. Guide and local naturalist Bryan Suson will talk about who comes out when the sun goes down, then lead a night hike in Andy Cove in search of anything nocturnal, even setting up some special lights to capture a few insect friends. As the group continues onto the trails, the lights will go dark as you look for movement and search for forest friends. This family-friendly event is one that you don’t want to miss, but please do not bring pets of any kind. They may scare away the forest’s furry and feathery friends. Pre-registration is required.
