Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup and Hike

Come join a community roadside cleanup and hike on one of a favorite trail. Volunteers will clean up up litter along South Mills Gap then head over to Bearwallow Mountain for a rewarding hike. South Mills Gap is a two-lane road located in Fruitland. Bearwallow Mountain offers nearly 360-degree views from a grassy bald peak, the tallest in the Hickory Nut Gorge at 4,232 feet. The hike is two miles round trip. The meeting location is Fruitland Methodist Church, 66 S. Mills Gap Rd., Hendersonville. Bring lunch and plenty of water. Wear long pants and closed-toed shoes.
