Volunteer Workday: Humphrey Farm
September 20, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pmFree
If you’ve ever attended one of Conserving Carolina’s volunteer orientations, you know who John Humphrey is. He is the owner of the first property to become a conservation easement when the group was operating as Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy. As the years go by, Humphrey continues the battle against non-native, invasive plants on his property, but needs your help. There will be a volunteer session to help remove non-native, invasive plants and perform native tree thinning. The ability to bend down and walk short distances is necessary for the day, and invasive plant ID will be taught. Wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and bring water, snacks, and lunch. Volunteers will meet at 10am at the Humphrey Farm located at 772 Foster Creek Road, off North Mills River Road, or at the Hendersonville office at 9:30am to carpool. To RSVP or for more information email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Natalie at 828-697-5777 ext. 211.
