You’ll have time while the sun slowly sets to reflect on the good time you had, because it is, after all, the longest weekend of the year. The Solstice Arts Show at Tigg’s Pond Retreat Center in Zirconia is a free, two-day event hosted by potter David Voorhees and his jewelry-designer wife Molly Sharp. They’ve invited more than a dozen artists to sell stained glass, paintings, metalwork, book arts, weaving, woodworking, photography, and more.

The retreat is situated on 54 landscaped acres. “We designed it as a garden-style event,” explains Voorhees. “The artists are friends of ours and all do exceptional work. Most visitors spend a couple of hours viewing all of the artwork, talking to the artists, enjoying the food and music, and walking the grounds.”

Shoko Steslicke will prepare a Japanese-style lunch, augmenting the event’s sophisticated nature. Entrance is free.

June 20 (9am-5pm) and June 21 (12-5pm). 212 Fiddlehead Lane, Zirconia. Davidvoorheespottery.com, 828-698-8775.
