One of the oldest farmers’ markets in the region opens for the season this month. To mark its 40th anniversary, Henderson County Tailgate Market will host specific themes each week — for April, it’s “Garden Ready Plants,” “Dirt Health,” “Easter Specials,” and “Cultivating Love.” Vendors expected to return for the season include Sofia Naturals/Sage Organics, C&D’s Farm, Flowers on the Creek, Carolina Herb and Flower Nursery, Crab Creek Produce, Popp’s Posies, Crow-Holler Produce, Sunzup Farm, Oliver Organiks, and Growater Farms, plus individual growers such as Mike Pressley, Hupert Barnwell, Kim Maybin, and more. Additions in 2019 will include items like fresh seafood, fresh baked goods, and handmade crafts.
