The celebrated ceramic artist, whose porcelain teapots are so meticulously crafted they appear to be made of fabric, leads a two-day intensive workshop at Tryon Arts & Crafts School. Students will learn slab construction, surface texture, use of mixed media, drying and firing, color, and assemblage, leaving with a piece to be fired at a later date. Textile artist Chad Alice Hagen shows how to make artisanal sketchbooks and journals in a two-day workshop at Tryon Fine Arts & Crafts School. The finished book will have a hard cover, open flat, and be made of multimedia paper. Students can bring favorite fabric remnants if they wish.
