In Bold Life’s sister publication Carolina Home + Garden, we’ve dedicated our cover and feature spread this quarter to the elevated importance — and ever-increasing variety — of so-called “outdoor rooms.” Livable outdoor spaces, adjacent to the home but tucked in the side pocket of nature, can be as simple as a side deck or as magisterial as a 30-foot waterfall with boulder-hewn festival seating. Innovations in such spaces are developing every day, and any outsized dream scenario can be adjusted to budget. The point is: We are here. In the southern Blue Ridge mountains. Where every season is beautiful, and a temperate climate means not enjoying the outdoors is close to criminal.
In harmony with our special spring issue, CH+G is hosting the first Outdoor Living Expo, to be held April 23 and 24 at the WNC Agricultural Center in Fletcher. Expect a thick bouquet of area vendors — builders, architects, designers, landscapers, and master gardeners — on hand to advise and inspire. Two full days of demos makes it an interactive experience.
