Plans are in the works for a new restaurant to open up on Main Street in downtown Hendersonville at the beginning of December. Owners Chuck and Janna Watson are calling it The French Broad to emphasize both the local river and a French-centric menu. The Watsons also own a restaurant and brewery in Greenville, SC, as well as five Mellow Mushroom franchises in South Carolina. They relocated to Hendersonville a few years back and are excited to announce the plans for a local eatery, designed with a casual environment and an upscale menu. The Watsons have hired a well-known chef from Charleston who previously cooked for a big name restaurants in New York.
